On 30 March, on the occasion of the activities linked to the PREMIO E.ART.H., the meeting between Oscar Farinetti and Telmo Pievani, professor of Philosophy of Biological Sciences of the Department of Biology at the University of Padua, will take place in the Eataly Art House Congress Centre hall.
The First Edition of PREMIO E.ART.H. saw the participation of artists under 35 whose artistic practices deal with biodiversity in its various nuances.
The two will dialogue on the theme of bio-cultural difference in Italy, an issue that underpins the pillars of the Eataly Art House Foundation, and is at the heart of Professor Pievani’s research.
Telmo Pievani, a philosopher of biology and expert in the theory of evolution, is the author of 322 national and international publications in the field of philosophy of science. He is a member of leading Italian scientific societies and academies, is on the Ethics Committee of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation and on the Editorial Board of international scientific journals such as Evolutionary Biology, Evolution: Education and Outreach, Rendiconti Lincei per le Scienze Fisiche e Naturali and Nature Italy. Since 2020 he has been scientific co-director of the series ‘Science and Ideas’ of Raffaello Cortina Editore. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani. He is the director of the portal Pikaia, collaborates with the main Italian science festivals, has directed important international science exhibitions and has been on the International Scientific Council of the MUSE in Trento since 2014.
